This position is based in the Singapore manufacturing plant located in Tuas. The Singapore plant is one of the leading manufacturing plants in Abbott Nutrition Supply Chain International Operations network. This role forms part of the International QA team reporting into the Divisional Vice President, International Quality Operations.

Leadership position that directs all activities within the Quality function for a single site business including:

• Implement and maintain a QMS to ensure compliance with Division and Abbott policies and procedures and applicable regulations.
• Deliver safe and effective products that meet customer needs while maintaining compliance with Division and Abbott policies and procedures and applicable regulatory agency requirements.
• Select, train and develop key staff to ensure availability of resources to support the Quality Management System (QMS) objectives along with short and long term business goals.
• Serve as the Quality System Management Representative for the site.
• Participate as a member of the on-site senior management team.
• Develop and maintain a culture where Health and Safety is an individual and collective responsibility

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide overall leadership and direction to the Quality Assurance team to provide efficient support to plant operations.
• Provide functional and strategic leadership and direction in quality, food safety and compliance to Abbott Nutrition Policies and Procedures.
• Ensure Abbott Nutrition Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures are fully implemented and operational for all raw materials, in-process and finished product.
• Ensure that products are effectively inspected/ tested and that product/ process quality data are reviewed to conform with specifications.
• Be responsible for releasing all products within the agreed time scale allowed for analysis.
• Effectively collaborate across all operational and technical teams to assure product conformance and efficacy requirements are fulfilled.
• Ensure full compliance with Abbott and Regulatory Requirements.
• Work closely with Divisional, Corporate and Global functions within Abbott ensuring the Singapore plant manages change and meets the overall governing requirements of Abbott
• Drive and implement continuous improvements to enhance quality and food safety in our products in a cost-effective manner.
• Drive Lean/ Sigma continuous improvement projects/ initiatives within the Department. Comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), hygiene rules, and sanitation standards.
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Skills/Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing QA Department.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience.
• Cross functional experience in operations, engineering or alternate technical function in addition to quality leadership. 
• Management of external regulatory inspections, audits, and experience liaising with competent authorities
• Good problem solving and analytical skills.
• Good computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and develop employees.
• Ability to motivate all departments to produce quality products.
• Communicate clearly to all personnel.
• Knowledge of nutritional/ pharmaceutical/ food manufacturing industry.
