Pavebank
People Manager (Generalist)
Salary
Job description
ABOUT PAVE BANK
Pave Bank is building the financial infrastructure for a new generation of global users — where traditional banking, digital assets, and modern payment systems converge.
At the same time, we’re building a People function designed to match that ambition. We see People not as a support function, but as a core driver of how the company scales — from hiring and organisational design to culture and performance.
We’re assembling a high-calibre team of operators and builders who are excited to shape both the business and the environment they work in, with the opportunity to build systems, processes, and culture from the ground up.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Talent Acquisition
- Own end-to-end recruitment across all functions (sourcing to offer)
- Partner closely with hiring managers and leadership on hiring strategy and workforce planning
- Build and maintain strong talent pipelines
- Ensure a high-quality, consistent candidate experience
People Operations & Payroll
- Oversee day-to-day People operations across the full employee lifecycle
- Manage payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain employee records, contracts, and People systems
Compliance & Policies
- Ensure compliance with local labour laws and regulations
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine People policies and processes from scratch
- Serve as the internal point of reference for governance and best practices
Employee Relations
- Act as a trusted point of contact for employee matters
- Handle employee relations issues with professionalism and discretion
- Drive engagement initiatives and support a strong, healthy culture
Strategic Business Partnering
- Work closely with leadership as a strategic People partner
- Support organisational design, performance management, and scaling initiatives
- Provide insights and recommendations on people-related decisions
Executive / Operational Support
- Provide ad hoc support to leadership (e.g. scheduling, coordination, follow-ups)
- Assist in internal communications and cross-functional initiatives where needed
REQUIREMENTS
- 5–8 years of experience in People / HR, with strong exposure to recruitment, operations, and generalist responsibilities
- Proven experience building People functions, processes, and policies from 0 to 1 in a startup or scale-up environment
- Strong understanding of Singapore and Malaysia Employment Act; exposure to UK employment practices is a plus
- Hands-on experience managing payroll and ensuring compliance
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience managing regional or multi-country People operations
- Familiarity with modern People systems and tools such as Ashby and Revolut People
- Prior experience working closely with founders or senior leadership in a high-growth environment
