Product Developer - H&M (Design Background)

As a Product Developer, you are the creative and technical link between design vision and production reality. You transform ideas into high-quality, sustainable products that meet customer expectations and align with H&M’s global assortment strategies. Your role ensures that every product reflects innovation, trend relevance, and operational excellence.

• Drive product development to secure the best product from a customer perspective.
• Translate product ideas into tangible product solutions (driving best quality, price and lead time) from early ideation to prototype development, in line with global assortment strategies and seasonal trends.
• Collaborate closely with suppliers and internal teams to co-execute market development plans and product strategies.
• Develop the supplier readiness and capabilities based on the business strategy.
• Collaborate with Development Manager to support suppliers onsite for their development and ensure alignment on customer insights, capabilities, and strategic growth directions.

What is Production?

It's the place where design ideas are transformed into actual products. We are in over 20 sourcing markets and are the direct point of contact for local suppliers. We work to ensure our products are of good quality and produced at the best price and in a sustainable way.

As a Product Developer, you combine creativity with structure and a strong sense of responsibility. You work collaboratively across teams and suppliers, communicate proactively, and leverage your fashion expertise and sustainability knowledge to deliver outstanding products. Your approach reflects H&M’s values and commitment to continuous improvement.

• Approach your work with ownership, structure, and attention to detail.
• Build strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
• Communicate clearly, proactively, and with a solution-oriented mindset.
• Bring strong fashion sense in Products, with deep knowledge of sustainable standards, materials, and finishes.
• Act as a reliable team member.
• Empower suppliers through technology and continuous support.
• Live H&M’s values: cost-conscious, straightforward, open-minded, and committed to improvement.

Ideally, you have:

• Product development background in fashion brands; Woven product experience, preferably light woven, with womenswear focus
• Experience working with international stakeholders and China-based suppliers
• Strong fashion interest with a good commercial and aesthetic sense
• Design-related education will be preferred
• Fluent in English. Overseas study or work experience is an advantage
• Flexibility for business travel to engage with suppliers
