Job description
- Collect samples of water and wastewater (& sludge when applicable) onsite; other types of samples as directed and keep records thereof; Ensure that samples are collected as per established methodology and record all required information pertaining to collected samples in the appropriate form.
- Drive vehicle of the company for sampling, and conveyance of staffs, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure that vehicle is carefully driven while always respecting road traffic regulations.
- Ensure that samples are brought to QuantiLAB as per given instructions. Record all required information pertaining to samples in the appropriate form.
- Carry out simple maintenance tasks on company vehicle & ensure that vehicle is kept in good, running conditions and is maintained safe for driving.
- Effect minor repairs to vehicle on the road (if situation arises) including changing of tyres, and planning for mending of punctures, using a tyre gauge, cleaning distributor points, and remedying simple faults in ignition and lighting systems.
- Keep a vehicle Logbook & ensure that information on all trips conducted is recorded properly.
- Always implement health and safety procedures (onsite, while driving and in the laboratory).
- Run official errands (e.g. dispatch of correspondences) and ensure that dispatch is properly performed; documents reach the right recipients; and that recipients sign in the Despatch Book after receiving the dispatched item.
- To record relevant data and operations relating to sampling; records shall include sampling procedure used, proper identification of samples, environmental conditions (if relevant) and diagrams or other equivalent means to identify sampling sites and locations.
- Valid & clean record of driving license
- School Certificate / Higher School Certificate
- 1- 2 years' experiences would be advantageous
- Willing to work odd hours & public holidays
