Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • business team Management and Requirements: Lead discovery sessions to understand a business team's specific payroll requirements, tax jurisdictions, and business processes. Translate these needs into functional specifications for the Dayforce system.
  • System Configuration: Configure all payroll-related elements within Dayforce, including pay policies, earnings, deductions, taxes, and general ledger accounts. They ensure the system is set up to accurately calculate wages, deductions, and taxes.
  • Testing and Validation: Conduct rigorous testing, including parallel payroll runs and user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure the system is accurate and compliant before and after implementation.
  • Training and Support: Train business team payroll administrators and end-users on how to use the Dayforce payroll module. They also provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for any payroll-related system issues.
  • Compliance and Best Practices: Stay current with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and labor laws to ensure the business team's payroll processes and system configurations remain compliant.
  • System Updates and Enhancements: Stay up to date with Dayforce updates and enhancements, assess their impact on existing processes, and recommend and implement system improvements. Proactively review release notes and communicate key changes to stakeholders, identifying opportunities to leverage new features to enhance business efficiency and functionality. Lead the planning and execution of system regression testing for major releases to ensure the stability and integrity of existing configurations.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Direct, hands-on experience 7 to 9 years in  implementing or supporting the Dayforce Payroll module is essential. A deep understanding of payroll processes, including year-end activities and reporting, is required.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance is a must. A Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is highly beneficial.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail. Excellent communication and leading workshops.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a related field such as Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is typically required.
