What You'll Do Help us reimagine how we execute our strategy at Principal! We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to join our Strategic Value Delivery and Enablement (SVDE) team. SVDE provides a variety of services to the organization to improve our achievement of target outcomes. The Product Manager will engage with stakeholders and users to deeply understand the needs, refine the product strategy, set target measurable outcomes, and drive discovery and delivery cycles to enable strategic portfolio management with technology and data solutions. This role has broad enterprise reach. They will be a key leader in elevating and socializing the value we realize from improved portfolio management processes and practices, partnering closely with portfolio management leadership and other product managers. Stakeholder Management and Communication: Ensure key information (strategy, priorities, plans, experiments, results, etc.) regarding the product(s) is understood by stakeholders. Negotiate resolution to conflicts and constraints. Product Strategy: Integrate business, customer, user, and partner insights to inform a clear understanding of problems to solve and risks to manage. Ensure relationships and dependencies with other products and teams are clear and integrate strategy through shared objectives. Product Discovery: Accountable for understanding and defining key business outcomes and requirements for their product. Articulate hypotheses and leads the product team(s) to deeply understand complex problems and solutions through experimentation. Product Delivery: Ensure teams can break down work and synchronize in a manner which enables frequent release of valuable product changes. Understand and facilitate team/agile ceremonies (effective structure & routines). Product Assessment: Ensure every goal-aligned unit of value is measurable and can show progress towards overall product objectives. Monitor and communicate product health, impact of product releases, and progress against product goals. Who You Are 4+ years of business, technology, or product management experience; or equivalent demonstrated through the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education 2+ years working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced product environment with product or engineering teams and stakeholders Passionate about improving internal operations and efficiency by designing products to drive decision making and alignment Excellent emotional intelligence, interpersonal savvy, and transformation leadership Experience managing ServiceNow, Atlassian, or similar software-as-a-service products Proven success managing complex stakeholder expectations in a product environment Demonstrated success in both discovery and delivery against product outcomes Salary Range Information Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly) $110200 - $171000 / year Salary Details The following salary ranges reflect market-specific compensation for this position across multiple job levels. Candidates will be evaluated to determine the appropriate job level based on their skills and experience. Product Manager II: $110,200 - $148,200/ year Senior Product Manager I: $127,000 - $171,000/ year Time Off Program Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided. Pension Eligible Yes Work Environments This role offers a hybrid work environment in our Global Headquarters located in Des Moines, Iowa (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek).
