Job description

As the SHE&W Business Partner, you’ll work closely with operational and business leaders to shape and strengthen our SHE&W culture across New Zealand.

You’ll act as a trusted advisor to the business — someone who can challenge constructively, influence confidently and help leaders navigate complex operational environments with practical, commercially-minded solutions.

You’ll be joining a collaborative ANZ SHE&W network while having the autonomy to make a genuine impact locally.

  • Partner with leaders to drive a proactive, high-performing SHE&W culture
  • Provide strategic and operational SHE&W advice across the business
  • Coach and influence leaders to strengthen accountability and capability
  • Lead risk management initiatives, audits and assurance activities
  • Support incident investigations and identify meaningful improvement opportunities
  • Design and deliver engaging SHE&W initiatives, programs and training
  • Monitor performance trends and translate data into actionable insights
  • Drive wellbeing and mental health initiatives that support our people to thrive
  • Embed SHE&W considerations into project planning and delivery
  • Buildi trusted relationships across teams, stakeholders and the wider ANZ network
  • Help shape practical, scalable systems and processes that support continuous improvement

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in professional services, understands organisational maturity, and knows how to bring people on the journey rather than simply enforce compliance.

We’re looking for someone with strong technical capability — but equally important is your ability to influence, communicate and partner effectively with people across all levels of the business.

  • Significant experience in a senior SHE&W advisory or business partnering role
  • Experience within professional services, engineering, infrastructure, construction or similarly complex environments
  • Strong working knowledge of New Zealand health, safety and environmental legislation
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • The confidence and credibility to engage with senior leaders and operational teams alike
  • A practical, commercially aware approach to risk and compliance
  • Strong communication, facilitation and coaching capability
  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or a related discipline
  • NEBOSH or equivalent professional qualification (preferred)

Most importantly, you’ll bring sound judgement, emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust quickly.
