Overview The CB&I Corporate Legal Internship Program provides motivated students and recent graduates with hands‑on experience in a professional Legal environment. Candidates will support global Legal teams by assisting with document standardization, data integrity initiatives, and Legal activities across projects and business units. Prior industry experience is not required; however, strong academic performance, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and high attention to detail is essential. Interns will gain exposure to Legal workflows, documents, and the core principles of Legal under the guidance of experienced Legal professionals. This position is an entry level role. The role directly reports to the Director Legal Operations & Admin and routinely interacts with the Corporate Legal and Non-Union Legal Teams along with Cross-Functional Managers and their respective staff. Responsibilities Assist attorneys and legal operations personnel with legal research, document review, and preparation of summaries, memoranda, and presentations. Support the review, organization, and tracking of contracts, policies, and other legal documents. Assist with maintaining and organizing legal department files, databases, and matter management systems, gaining hands‑on experience with in‑house legal operations and data management. Provide support on an active integration project (e.g., post-acquisition or restructuring), including document collection, data validation, and coordination with internal stakeholders. Assist with organizing and analyzing information relevant to legal, entity, or compliance workstreams related to integration. Contribute to special legal projects, process improvements, and operational initiatives as assigned. Assist with data gathering, reporting, and analysis to support legal operations, risk management, or compliance efforts. Support the development or refinement of internal legal resources, templates, and playbooks. Gain exposure to the role of an in-house legal department and collaborate with cross-functional partners, including Finance, Compliance, HR, and Business teams. Perform other duties and projects as assigned to support departmental goals and business needs. Qualifications High school diploma or current enrollment in a college‑track academic program with strong academic performance. Coursework or demonstrated interest in Legal, business, or related fields. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Teams. Demonstrated leadership potential through academics, athletics, clubs, or volunteer roles. Willingness to learn Legal processes, and financial reporting. Flexible schedule and ability to work with supervisors in different time zones. Demonstrated interest in leveraging technology to improve processes, increase efficiency, and reduce manual effort, including identifying opportunities for automation or system optimization.
