About the Role
ALS Food & Pharmaceutical division in Rydalmere, Sydney has a newly created opportunity as a Store Assistant / Inventory & Purchasing Assistant to ensure our laboratory is well stocked and supported.
This hands-on role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys coordinating logistics, managing inventory, and building strong relationships with suppliers and lab teams.
To be successful, we’re looking for strong communication and data entry skills, a logistical mindset, and eagerness to lend a hand where required. We will provide you with training and support but we’re also looking for someone that can take initiative and can think ahead to meet deadlines.
This is a permanent, full-time positions, Monday to Friday – 8:00AM to 4:15PM.
The Day to Day:
Purchasing: Order consumables, receipt purchase orders, follow up on backorders/returns, communicate with suppliers/labs, maintain customer relationships, and update purchasing systems.
Stock Management: Stocktakes, stock rotation, maintaining a clean warehouse and coolroom, certificate preparation, labelling of goods, login of reagents, standards, media, supplements and plastic ware.
Invoice Management: Management of invoices and media certificates and reports.
General Assistance: Deliver consumables/orders to labs, collect/dispose of recycling and waste, and handle archive filing (RF, COA, WK sheets). General manual handling, and health and safety upkeep.
About you
Ideally, previous experience working in a production, manufacturing, warehousing or similar environment.
Strong communication and customer service skills – in person, email and phone.
Ability to multi-task and prioritise efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
A positive work attitude and a great team player
Strong organisational and time-management skills and able to quickly reorganise priorities
Diligence in dealing with data and details and intermediate MS Office skills
Strong manual handling techniques
Manual handling required, including prolonged standing and occasional lifting of up to 12 kg
