Job description
As a Trader, you will be responsible to source, buy and sell non-ferrous metals including aluminum, copper, brass, and stainless steel in a fast-paced, trading environment. You will bring a strong sales mindset, entrepreneurial drive and a results-focused approach. You will gain hands-on training and field exposure while working alongside an experienced trader, progressively taking on greater responsibility and ownership in the market.
What you’re responsible for:
- Developing and managing a portfolio of suppliers and customers for non-ferrous scrap and refined metals, with a primary emphasis on aluminum during the initial phase.
- Sourcing non-ferrous materials domestically and internationally, negotiating purchase and sale terms to maximize margins and long-term value.
- Actively selling material by identifying opportunities, calling customers, and maintaining strong, trust-based business relationships.
- Analyzing global market trends, pricing indices, and supply-demand dynamics to support trading strategies and informed decision-making.
- Executing trades end-to-end, with growing ownership over pricing, logistics coordination, risk management, and compliance requirements.
- Building and sustaining long-term commercial relationships with scrap yards, smelters, brokers, processors, and industrial end-users.
- Collaborating closely with operations, logistics, finance, and compliance teams to ensure smooth execution and settlement of transactions.
To join our team:
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, International Trade or a related field (or equivalent experience);
- You have experience in B2B sales with exposure to international trade and logistics (asset);
- You have the ability to assess risk, understand P&L dynamics and make informed commercial decisions;
- You have knowledge of commodity markets, pricing mechanisms and supply chain logistics (asset);
- You have excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills;
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with ERP/CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, SAP);
- You have a valid driver’s license and passport, with the ability to travel domestically and internationally.
