Game Design Internship (part-time & hybrid)

General Information

• Paid internship: €485 gross (approx. €297 net)
• Work Model: Hybrid (2 days office, 3 days work from home)
• Schedule: Part-time, 4 hours/day
• Internship Duration: 3 months
• Estimated Start Date: July

Role Purpose

Are you enthusiastic about the gaming industry and familiar with scripting in Unreal Engine Blueprints? Have you always wanted to turn your creative ideas into games? This is your chance to be part of a dynamic environment, collaborating with a team mentored by top seniors in the studio.

Responsibilities

• Create and iterate on game and level designs, potentially starting from existing designs
• Use Unreal Engine blueprints to script game mechanics
• Collaborate with programmers and other colleagues to integrate designs into the game
• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss progress and brainstorm ideas
• Conduct playtesting sessions and gather feedback to refine designs
• Learn how to form an integrated team with your fellow interns, working on turning ideas into feature prototypes

What You Will Learn

• Create appealing/convincing pitch documents
• Create actionable Game Design Documents
• Efficient communication within the same department, as well as with different departments
• Presenting work for review meetings
• Working with industry tools: Jira, Confluence, Miro, Perforce

Candidate Profile – Must Have

• Working knowledge of Unreal Engine 5
• Basic understanding of game and level design principles
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine blueprints for scripting
• Understanding of player experience and game mechanics
• Good English communication skills (spoken and written)
• Interest and history with games across various genres and platforms, and good media culture (movies, TV shows).

• Word/Excel
