Job description

Manage the operations of the Spa and Wellness in the entire Resort by ensuring product quality standards are met and that optimum service is provided to all hotel guests according to the resort’s and business objectives.  Ensuring the facilities and treatments offered continually exceed guest expectations

To perform the human resource function in ensuring staff selection, training, counselling and recognition programs are adhered to in order to maximize performance standards and to adhere to guest service standards in order to maximize guest satisfaction.

Director of Spa would be accountable for managing the budget, forecast on revenue and expense, capital expenditure, support the Wellness program and Accor’s Planet 21. And would be responsible for maintaining all regulatory requirements.

Liaise and work alongside team member from other Department at all times to provide the best service and Resort experience, as well as to maintain connection with outside vendor and trainer to provide wellness and wellbeing activity for our guest

General Duties

  • Manages and organizes Spa and Wellness team whose mission is to ensure the Wellness and Wellbeing of all guest in the Resort.  This is accomplished within the scope of a budget and in conformity with well- defined management norms.
  • Responsible for planning, directing, controlling, co-coordinating and participating in the activities of all personnel engaged in Wellness and Wellbeing activities.
  • Responsible for the operation of the Spa department (including  Fitness and The Shop), overall condition and maintenance of the property, repair and up keeping of the furniture, fixtures and equipment's, installations, systems and buildings of the Spa, Wellness and Fitness Area. Both in term of assets and respect of equipment in all area.

Management Responsibilities

  • Being a member of the Department Head, you are responsible for taking part in the decision making process of the hotel management team and for ensuring afterwards that all decisions are fully implemented in the overall maintenance department.
  • Responsible for ensuring implementation of the hotel vision in the maintenance department and implementation of the regular business action plans.
  • Ensure that all policies, procedures and rules set by the management are adhered to by the staff in the Maintenance department.

General Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Spa menu that provide a wide range of appropriate treatments that would be suitable for our Resort Guest and to update this menu in a timely manner for any changes required
  • Gather information and remain fully informed of local and international trends in Spa operations, recommends new and up to date treatments as necessary for improvement
  • Develop and maintain Wellness and Fitness activities for in house guest during stay with focus on personalized program based on guest profile and needs
  •  Develop and maintain the Shop as the only retail of the Resort to make sure that all items on sale are accounted for at all times, to make sure selection of item are of highest luxury standard

    Financial Responsibilities

  • Directly responsible to produce monthly report for Hotel Manager, General Manager on the overall performance of the Spa, Wellness and The Shop. Monthly Spa KPI report to Spa Corporate on the overall performance of the Spa
  • To regularly monitor the financial performance of the Spa Department and The Shop and to come up with necessary action plan to achieve Budget
  • Directly responsible of maintaining the department costs  and  other expenses related as per guidelines defined
  • Directly responsible of all needed equipment's purchases (Spa products, replacement item, etc.), selection of suppliers in co-operation with purchasing manager.
  • Directly responsible of all needed equipment's receiving and the quality of control upon receiving as per purchase orders and proper storage of goods upon receipt in co-operation with the Accounting department and store.
  • Responsible for setting all the par stock for maintenance dept. items, monitoring delivery with store and purchasing and avoiding shortage of goods.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the yearly budget for the maintenance department in co- operation with Financial Controller and Hotel Manager for final approval of General Manager
  • Responsible for setting up energy saving plans and training/guidelines for all concerned to follow and assist when and where possible
  • To actively participate in Accor’s Planet 21 program to support the champion in achieving the target
  • Diploma or Bachelor Degree on relevant subject
  • Proficient in Book4Time Spa System
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Spa and Wellness in a Luxury Property
  • Expert in Wellness and Wellbeing activities especially Yoga, Tai Chi and Meditation
  • Hands on Approach on day to day operation
  • Knowledge of local regulations related to Spa, Fitness and Wellness is a must

    Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of Spa operations, Fitness activities, and related knowledge on both
  • Good communication and organizational skills, ability to analyze and solve problems, capable of functioning well under stress and during emergencies, strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead employees, experience with Talent and Cultures processes as they relate to direct reports (e.g., performance management, development, coaching, feedback, etc.)
