  • Partner with Category Managers and senior stakeholders to deliver strong commercial outcomes
  • Permanent role based at either Melbourne CBD or Mascot, Sydney

As a Category Procurement Specialist within the Customer & Commercial Procurement team, you will lead and support strategic sourcing across key spend areas, including food and beverages, laundry, in-flight catering, and corporate services. You will partner closely with stakeholders to shape sourcing strategies, deliver strong commercial outcomes, and ensure supplier performance meets operational and business needs. You will also play a key role in leading commercial negotiations to secure optimal value, performance, and risk outcomes for the Group. In this role, you’ll contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, leverage data-driven insights, and support procurement process optimisation within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and execute category sourcing strategies
  • Work alongside and collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Category Managers and Analysts 
  • Run end‑to‑end sourcing events (RFPs, negotiations, contracting)
  • Manage supplier risk and governance
  • Support contract lifecycle management and renewals
  • Generate transformation ideas and identify Group scale opportunities
  • Deliver savings, value and risk mitigation

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Customer or Corporate Services Procurement experience is desirable
  • 3–5 years’ experience in Strategic Sourcing, Category Management or Procurement
  • Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Business or related discipline (CIPS desirable incl. those on an existing accreditation pathway)
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder‑management capability
  • Understanding of Procurement best practice, supplier performance management and contract negotiation
  • Experience leading cross‑functional projects in an outcomes‑driven environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, ERP and eProcurement tools
  • A commercial mindset, genuine passion for generating Procurement value beyond cost savings, and a passion to make a difference
