Job description

At Morgan & Morgan, the work we do matters. For millions of Americans, we’re their last line of defense against insurance companies, large corporations or defective goods. From attorneys in all 50 states, to client support staff, creative marketing to operations teams, every member of our firm has a key role to play in the winning fight for consumer rights. Our over 6,000 employees are all united by one mission: For the People.
The Complex Litigation team is seeking a highly strategic, execution-oriented Director of Case of Operations to lead and scale the firm's case operations function. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Counsel, the Director will serve as a senior leader responsible for designing, building, and optimizing the operational infrastructure that powers the firm's complex, high-stakes litigation portfolio.

This role requires a strong mix of strategic vision, operational rigor, analytical sophistication, and people leadership. The Director will lead cross-functional initiatives across analytics, technology, client communications, and litigation support, while helping shape long-term strategy, scalable systems, and a high-performing team.

This position operates at the intersection of law, technology, analytics, and large-scale operational execution. It is ideal for a seasoned leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth, and intellectually demanding environments.

This position is full-time in-office. Compensation is commensurate with executive-level responsibilities and includes, depending on experience, a competitive base salary, plus benefits and a year-end discretionary performance bonus.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Chief Operations Counsel to define and execute the long-term strategy and operational priorities
  • Build, develop, lead, and oversee a high-performing team
  • Establish clear performance metrics, KPIs, and accountability structures across the operations team.
  • Drive organizational design decisions to support growth and scalability.
  • Oversee end-to-end operational execution for large-scale litigation campaigns, including client outreach, claims intake, evidence review, and related workflows.
  • Design and implement scalable processes that enable efficient management of large, dispersed client populations.
  • Lead cross-functional planning with attorneys, technology teams, and operations professionals to ensure alignment between legal strategy and operational execution.
  • Oversee the development and governance of dashboards, reporting systems, and data infrastructure used by firm leadership.
  • Translate complex data into strategic insights that inform litigation strategy, client engagement, and resource allocation.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, AI integration, and advanced analytics to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications:

  • Strategic leader with demonstrated ability to build and scale operational functions.
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities, comfortable working with large datasets and performance metrics.
  • Proven ability to lead large, complex initiatives across multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent executive-level communication skills, including the ability to present to firm leadership.
  • Demonstrated success managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills in high-stakes environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with CRM systems, workflow tools, and enterprise data platforms.
  • High degree of ownership, resilience, and adaptability.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • JD preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in legal operations, consulting, large-scale program management, analytics, or related leadership roles
  • Prior experience leading operational teams within a law firm, litigation finance organization, legal services platform, or similarly complex professional services environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing significant vendor relationships and technology-enabled operations at scale.
