Job description

Executes a comprehensive resident centered Enrichment Program for a group of high functioning residents who have mild to moderate cognitive impairment.  This role take the lead in guiding a group of 6 - 12 residents in a structured daily curriculum of interactive activities and exercises that nourish the mind, body and soul.

Essential Duties:

  • Promotes resident participation for those who would benefit.
  • Provides a setting that is clean, safe and comfortable.
  • Works in conjunction with the Director of Assisted Living in development and execution of monthly Club Maravilla program calendar and Resident Daily Schedule.
  • Maintains resident engagement in meaningful programs specific to resident interests and abilities.
  • Coordinates attendance at Assisted Living programs and events when appropriate.
  • Organizes Club outings with activities staff.
  • Routinely communicates with Director of Assisted Living, Nursing and Care staff any resident personal needs.
  • Reports any noted changes in residents condition/behavior or normal routine to Director of Assisted Living.
  • Arranges for clinical assistance for residents as needed. (restroom escorts, medication assistance, etc.)
  • Maintains activity records per SRG policies.
  • Assists in Club dining services to enhance resident dining experience including coordination of mealtimes.
  • Set up for and clean up after events and activities.
  • Secures passenger’s wheelchairs, walkers and other equipment to restraining devices to stabilize equipment during outings.
  • Prior experience in recreation therapy, leading and motivating small groups.
  • Life experience to relate naturally to the resident population of average age 85 years young is a plus.
  • This role is ideal for teachers, coaches or persons who are used to working with a curriculum.
  • Patience, kindness and tenacity are all qualities that the ideal candidate must possess.
  • Most importantly, the ideal candidate must have a service heart and must LOVE seniors.
