About the Project
The Eyre Peninsula Desalination Project is a key infrastructure development supporting long-term water security in South Australia. This project involves complex construction activities across multiple disciplines, requiring strong coordination across construction, logistics, and materials management to ensure successful delivery. The role will operate on a 10/4 roster, flying from Adelaide to Port Lincoln.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Materials Coordinator to support warehouse and logistics operations on site, working closely with the broader construction team. This role is responsible for coordinating materials, plant, and equipment to ensure timely delivery and efficient site operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a developing professional looking to gain exposure to large-scale project delivery in a site-based environment.
Key accountabilities
- Implementation of site materials management systems and procedures
- Ensure all identified material requirements are accurately input into the materials management system
- Coordinate scheduling and delivery of materials and equipment to site
- Manage safe offloading of materials from trailers and unloading of transport and shipping containers
- Receipt, inspection and storage of materials in accordance with OEM requirements
- Implement materials receipting, OS&D reporting, warehousing, and work pack issuance processes
- Work closely with Construction teams to review material availability and support work pack development
- Coordinate issuing of materials to construction work fronts in line with program requirements
- Assist with planning and forecasting of site plant and equipment requirements, including mobilisation and demobilisation
- Liaise with plant and equipment hire companies to optimise utilisation and availability
- Support cost control with forecasting of plant and equipment usage and control accounts
Required Skills and Competencies
- Demonstrated experience in materials coordination, warehousing or site logistics within construction projects
- Strong understanding of materials management systems and processes
- Knowledge of safe materials handling, storage and offloading practices
- Forklift licenced & experienced (Advantageous)
- Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills
