Fraud Investigator
Salary
Job description
At Trustpilot, we're on an incredible journey. We're a profitable, high-growth FTSE-250 company with a big vision: to become the universal symbol of trust. We run the world's largest independent consumer review platform, and while we've come a long way, there's still so much exciting work to do. Come join us at the heart of trust!
Are you passionate about investigating? Are you naturally curious, a keen problem solver, and excited to dive deep into the world of fraud prevention? If you have a foundational understanding of fraud investigation, or have briefly touched upon it, and are eager to master the craft, we’re looking for you!
Come join our international Fraud & Investigations team as our new Fraud Investigator and help us enhance online trust and protect consumers and businesses worldwide.
As our Fraud Investigator, you will work closely with our Legal, Communications, and Content Integrity teams to learn the ropes of ensuring Trustpilot’s ongoing trustworthiness. Under the guidance of senior team members, you will combine your blossoming investigation skills with curiosity and a willingness to lift every “stone” to identify misuse. You will play a vital role in safeguarding Trustpilot’s brand by helping us prevent, detect, and combat fraudulent behavior.
In your role, you will:
-
Learn how to perform fraud investigations and translate findings and evidence into factual, informative reports for stakeholders.
-
Assist in preventing and combating attempted fraudulent behavior on Trustpilot’s platform.
-
Help localize and act on bad actors attempting to facilitate fraud, such as review sellers.
-
Research online fraud trends and help convert that data into actionable items for the team.
-
Cooperate with departments across Trustpilot, sharing insights that help us build better fraud detection tools and technologies.
-
Assist the Fraud & Investigations team with identifying, creating, and maintaining policies and procedures for investigation operations.
-
Be an active part of the team’s efforts to continuously improve our internal investigations processes.
We are looking for people with:
-
1-2 years of experience in a related field (e.g., trust & safety, compliance, data analysis, or basic fraud detection), or a strong academic/internship background where you've briefly touched upon fraud investigation.
-
A natural knack for critical thinking and an eagerness to learn how to identify patterns and outliers in data.
-
A proactive, inquisitive approach with a strong desire to understand complex problems and find solutions.
-
A keen eye for detail and efficiency, taking pride in handling every case accurately.
-
The ability to work both independently and as an enthusiastic, self-starting team player who welcomes feedback and mentorship.
-
Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to understand the nuances of communicating with businesses and consumers.
We are:
100% passionate about fraud and tackling misuse, but there is much more to come. We are down to earth, enjoy working together, have a laugh and share knowledge to get the best out of each other. Our team is part of the Trust & Transparency team and we drive real change within the business and the wider online review sector, with a mission to help Trustpilot become a universal symbol of trust and upgrade the world.
We offer:
- The chance to be a part of an exciting global growth journey
- An opportunity to work alongside talented, passionate people in a rapidly growing, fast-paced company
- A challenging and equal opportunity workplace with diverse perspectives and ideas
- A competitive salary package and bonus scheme
- Opportunities to grow your skills and develop your career
- An international, fast-paced, diverse and fun working environment
- Balanced work-life environment, with flexibility and the option to regularly work from home several days of the week
We are actively reviewing applications and conducting interviews on an ongoing basis. We highly encourage you to apply today!
