Job description

The primary responsibility of the Front Desk Agent is to warmly greet, welcome, and check guests in and out of the hotel while anticipating and responding to guest needs in accordance with Fairmont Copley Plaza standards. Front Desk Agents are expected to maintain a consistently welcoming attitude, assist with guest questions and requests, prepare daily reports, and ensure all guest room accounts are accurate and compliant with hotel policies and procedures.

EDUCATION:    

  • Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • High school diploma required and college degree preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Long hours sometimes may be required.
  • Ability to stand for 8 hour shift. 
  • Light work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Availability to work all hours. AM, MID, PM and overnight shifts.

  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
  • Must be effective at handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests.
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
  • Must have strong communication skills.

 

The hourly start rate is USD $26.98
