About the opportunity
At Mercy Health, you’ll become part of a proud history built on over 100 years of expertise, skill and care. As the Group Employee Relations Manager, you’ll apply your extensive expertise in complex industrial and employee relations, enterprise bargaining, and organisational compliance to support the delivery of high‑quality ER services across Mercy Health to help achieve even more for all who need us.
What you’ll bring
It takes a special kind of person to work in healthcare or community services. If you are genuinely interested in helping others, then you’ll find you can build something here and find your place in a team of 10,000 hearts.
To thrive in this role, you will have:
- Extensive experience interpreting and managing industrial instruments, including monitoring legislative and award changes and advising leaders on impacts, risks and required actions.
- Proven capability in leading enterprise agreement negotiations and managing ongoing compliance, supported by strong relationships with unions and key stakeholders.
- High‑level expertise in complex IR/ER matters, acting as the escalation point for HR and managers on performance, conduct, investigations, disputes and organisational change.
- Demonstrated authority in managing escalated external matters, including Fair Work Commission claims and Fair Work Ombudsman correspondence, with the ability to represent the organisation and oversee external counsel.
- Strong analytical capability to interpret workforce data, develop business cases and contribute to ER strategy aligned with organisational objectives and future needs.
- A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to coach, mentor and build capability across HR, Payroll and management teams while contributing to broader People, Learning and Culture initiatives.
- The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
- A current Police Record Check
