Overview Full Time Position Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 6:45pm - 7:15am The primary purpose of this position is to clean and maintain the Operating rooms as well as all equipment; secure supplies for OR team, and restock rooms. Patient care will include positioning, tranferring and transporting patients within the various areas within Perioperative Services. Responsibilities -Manages the inventory of Hospital-Owned Equipment: Ensures par levels are maintained, communicates urgent needs to management, supports nursing staff by coordinating equipment needs, connects scopes and video equipment and provide basic troubleshooting. Maintenance: Assists staff in securing equipment and supplies. Cleans all instruments/equipment and transports to the appropriate location. Notifies maintenance when necessary to replace light bulbs and unstop clogged drains. Identifies equipment in need of maintenance or repair and sends Biomed according to policy. Handles refrigerator cleaning and temperature maintenance. Cleans and stores transportation equipment on unit. Coordinates with ANM to ensure special items are ready for use: clean and in working order according to manufacturer's instructions, and Biomed checks are current. Changes the anesthesia circuits and sets up as well as tests the machines for safety. -Housekeeping: Efficiently cleans and maintains the operating rooms according to regulatory requirements: includes but not limited to am. protocol for wet dusting lights and flat surfaces; mopping floors and washing lights and walls as needed; wiping down the OR table, flat surfaces, stretchers as required. clean up spills, replaces linen. Actively performs tasks that support as well as adherence to efficiency expectations of the unit to include but not limited to on-time first case starts and room turnover times -Patient Care: Transfer, transports, assists with patient prepping. All in accordance with safety standards. Picks up and delivers specimens as requested. takes inventory of supplies and stocks rooms. Answers phones and intercoms. Provides patient centered care and demonstrated BEST ¿must have¿ behaviors to achieve a high level of patient/family satisfaction such as: AIDET, communication with family during perioperative phase, managing up, etc. Follows correct infection control practices including, but not limited to correct wearing of surgical attire and use of PPE, hand washing practices and scrub practices. Changes the anesthesia circuits and sets up as well as tests the machines for safety. Prepares all set-ups for the anesthesia care including difficult intubation. Positions patients for regional blocks. Additional Responsabilities -May be required to take "on call" duty. -Provides immediate assistance with nursing and technical staff in the procedural rooms -Maintains a safe and orderly work area by organizing and stocking equipment. -Demonstrates knowledge of the ordering process and appropriate charging procedures for all specialty supplies and materials. Issues purchase requisitions from appropriate cost center. -Assists Perioperative Specialties with tracking of product evaluations. -Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor within job scope. -Assists the Value Analysis Teams. Performs all other duties as assigned by management within job scope. Qualifications Required Education: High School Diploma or GED Preferred Education: N/A Required Licensure/Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) within 30 days from the date of hire. Preferred Licensure/Certifications: CNA, or PCA, or MA Required Experience: Less than one (1) year of patient care (i.e. nursing assistant/surgical tech/ MA), Supply chain, Operating Room or relevant medical equipment experience Preferred Experience: 3-5 years patient care, Supply Chain, OR, or relevant medical equipment experience Necessary Skills: 1. Customer Service skills. 2. Must possess manual dexterity, computer skills, and be able to work under pressure. 3. Effective oral and written communication skills. 4. Must be able to read, spell and do simple math, write clearly and understand written and oral instructions. 5. Need to have effective computer skills, including typing, and use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) 6. Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all members of the healthcare team 7. Demonstrates a willingness to learn new methods, procedures and techniques resulting from departmental or organization change. 8.
