Job description

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Steward with 7–8 years of expertise in implementing and monitoring workplace health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe work environment, regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture across projects or operations.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety Management

  • Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safety programs
  • Ensure compliance with local safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies
  • Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all teams

Site Monitoring & Inspection

  • Carry out regular site inspections and safety audits
  • Identify hazards, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions
  • Ensure proper usage of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Monitor high-risk activities such as working at heights, confined space entry, and hot work

Incident Management

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses
  • Prepare incident reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions
  • Maintain safety records and documentation

Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain safety logs, audit reports, inspection records, and permits
  • Ensure adherence to all statutory and regulatory safety requirements
  • Support internal and external safety audits

Training & Awareness

  • Conduct training programs on safety practices and emergency procedures
  • Educate employees on hazard identification and risk mitigation
  • Participate in emergency drills and crisis management activities

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety standards (OSHA, ISO 45001)
  • Ability to identify risks and implement preventive measures
  • Excellent observation and reporting skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in safety documentation and reporting

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Engineering or relevant field
  • Certification in Industrial Safety (NEBOSH / IOSH / Diploma in Safety preferred)

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, or industrial projects
  • Familiarity with permit-to-work systems and safety protocols
  • Experience handling audits and regulatory compliance
