Job Title:        Sr Director, Business Analytics

Reports to:     VP, Calendar and Culinary Innovation

Department:  Marketing

Location:        Atlanta, GA

Revised:         August 2025

The Sr . Director, Business Analytics is the enterprise-wide champion for turning data into growth. This leader sets the vision, roadmap, and operating model for advanced analytics—spanning marketing, digital channels, supply chain and restaurants. Success is defined by a strong understanding of business performance drivers, impactful recommendations for the business, and impact on sales and transaction growth. The role will lead a team of 3-5 analytics professionals.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

  • Insights & Storytelling
    • Lead deep‑dive analyses, executive business reviews, and board‑level narratives that connect transaction, guest, digital, and financial data
  • Advanced Analytics & Experimentation
    • Institutionalize key explanatory analyses, A/B testing, and forecasting models, to optimize marketing activity including promotions, media, digital, and loyalty
  • SelfService & Data Literacy
    • Build dashboards, playbooks, and training that empower team members to answer 80 % of questions without an analyst
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Serve as the primary analytics liaison to leadership, translating data into clear “so‑what / now‑what” actions and aligning on KPIs
  • Team Leadership
    • Coach, retain, and recruit top analytics talent; foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Position Requirements (Education, Qualifications, Experience)

  • Bachelor’s in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or related STEM field required; Master’s/MBA preferred
  • 12 + years progressive analytics experience in multi‑unit restaurants, retail, or hospitality. Proven record driving measurable P&L impact through analytics programs
  • 10+ years progressive marketing experience—ideally in multi-unit restaurants, retail, or franchise systems—with demonstrated ownership of local or regional marketing.
  • Expert in SQL and at least one scripting language (Python / R); hands‑on experience with modern cloud data warehouses and BI tools. Familiarity with machine‑learning frameworks and experimentation platforms
  • Executive‑ready storytelling, consultative mindset, cross‑functional influence, and the ability to simplify complexity for non‑technical audiences

Competencies

  • Strategic Thinking & Innovation: connects analytics vision to enterprise strategy; pilots new methods (GenAI, causal inference) and scales what works
  • Data Storytelling & Influence: crafts compelling narratives that drive action with senior stakeholders and franchisees
  • Operational Excellence: balances speed and rigor; hard‑wires insights into daily routines through automated reporting and alerts
  • People Leadership: builds high‑engagement teams
  • Critical Thinking: Separates signal from noise, prioritizes value, and frames recommendations decisively

Core Values & Behaviors

  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, teamwork, focus, discipline, professionalism, organizational stewardship, performance standards & rewards. Look for ways to improve ourselves and inspire others to do the same
  • High Level of Guest Service – Internal & External – Show we care
  • Accountability & Ownership
  • Emotional maturity to “get it right” vs. “be right.” Keeps our commitments and acts with integrity.
  • Willingness to serve the organization, its employees and guests, celebrates differences, respect all cultures and works together
  • Self-Awareness of our leadership style and impact to others.  ‘We’ versus ‘Me’ perspective
  • Adaptability to needs of situation, nimble and flexible. Action oriented.

Physical Requirements

  • Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
