Job description

Overview We are currently seeking a Lube Technician to support our terminal operations at Manatee. The Lube Technician is responsible for performing lubrication services, preventive maintenance, fluid checks, and basic mechanical inspections on heavy port equipment used in cargo handling operations. This includes cranes, forklifts, top handlers, terminal tractors, reach stackers, loaders, and other marine terminal equipemtn. The role helps ensure equipment reliability, safety, and operational uptime in a fast-paced waterfront environment. Take this opportunity and come do great things with us! Responsibilities What your day looks like as a Lube Technician: Perform scheduled lubrication and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment and machinery. Change engine oil, hydraulic fluids, transmission fluids, gear oils, and filters. Inspect equipment for leaks, wear, damage, and safety concerns. Grease moving components including bearings, pins, joints, and cables. Maintain maintenance logs, service records, and inspection reports. Assist mechanics with repairs and equipment servicing when needed. Monitor fluid levels and replenish fuel, coolant, and lubricants. Follow manufacturer maintenance schedules and company procedures. Keep work areas clean and comply with environmental regulations regarding waste oil and hazardous materials. Report equipment deficiencies to supervisors or maintenance planners. Support equipment availability for vessel loading and unloading operations. Adhere to all port, marine terminal, and occupational safety requirements. Qualifications What we're looking for: High school diploma or equivalent required. Proven mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of maintenance practices. Knowledge of rigging equipment and ability to perform minor repairs. Ability to safely operate tools and equipment; chainsaw operation experience preferred. Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company insurability standards. TWIC card required or ability to obtain. Ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. Other Details: As a port employer our team is subject to working in all weather conditions including extreme heat and harsh winters. We work in all weather conditions.
