Job Summary As a member of the Swissport’s Training, Learning, and Development (TLD) team, the Regional Training Manager is responsible for driving training compliance, quality assurance, and trainer development for designated region which includes all Fueling stations/locations in the NOAM region. The Regional Training Manager is designed to equip Swissport Trainers with the competence and confidence to perform their designated functions and align with Swissport’s core values – Show You Care, Do the Right Things, and Win as a Team. Business Partners include GMs, Trainers, Coaches, QHSE, HR, Operational SMEs, and Carrier representatives throughout the North America. Leading a team of Station and Travel Trainers, this role will focus on using the most effective and efficient training solutions to meet operational business demands. This role will have direct oversight of both implementation and maintenance of the learning programs for their designated area. Serving as a learning expert, this role will qualify learning needs; collaborate with business partners and team on learning solutions; collaborate with L&D team to design & delivery solutions, while providing business partners with status updates. Supporting the implementation of crucial learning programs will grow our leaders, hone the technical skills of our associates, and position our workforce for a successful future at Swissport. Employee may also be responsible for performing other job duties occasionally as assigned. Responsibilities Implement & maintain the appropriate training standards and principles across designated area to maximize consistency & results Ensure training compliance and accuracy of all training files (paper & electronic) Partner with station stakeholders (GM, HR, Operations, etc.) to ensure a smooth initial and recurrent training experience for all employees. Provide day-to-day leadership and management to Station Trainers within designated area, mirroring the mission and core values of the company. Deliver on all KPI’s, through effective planning, by supporting and coaching individuals in order to meet the business targets Effectively Manage and communicate station training schedules to maximize trainer efficiency and increase trainee competence. Provide a consistent and comprehensive onboarding experience to all new Trainers Deliver virtual instructor lead training (VILT) sessions for Swissport technical (Technical Training) and professional development topics (Non-Technical Training) Deliver Train the Trainer sessions to certify training resources enabling training at station level. Perform training operation observations. Conduct Swissport Training Quality Surveys, Training Administration Quality Reviews, and Station Trainer Quality Reviews Provide training design and development team with regular feedback to improve training experience. Maintain regular and effective communication and strong working relationships with, line of business leader, General Managers (GMs), Human Resources Shared Service Center (HRSSC), Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment (QHSE), & Finance. Actively engage in regular TLD touch points (weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly community touch points) Partner with TLD counterparts to support deployment of learning programs. Provide business partners with regular program updates. Provide direction to and oversite of Training Field Services Team for designated region. Set, cascade, and monitor business goals, creating relevance and accountability. Create & implement development plans for all designated team members. Conduct regular performance reviews (3-4 touch points per year) Promote continuous improvement within circle of influence. Share best practice and use adult learning principles. Create a culture of teamwork and collaboration amongst team and business partners. Ensure the Swissport Training Field Services function achieves its agreed performance objectives by actively contributing to initiatives that deliver improvements to the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of training in the organization Performs other related duties as assigned. Key Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated experience using adult learning principles to deliver learning programs Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and developing diverse teams of managers and associates Strong facilitation skills, demonstrated using both VILT & ILT modes of delivery Strong communication skills, both written & verbal Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills Experience delivering technical, non-technical, & company culture training Demonstrated ability to prioritize, handle interruptions, and manage competing priorities to successfully meet daily / weekly goals. Experience managing with influence and not authority Ability to work in a matrixed team environment to accomplish common goals Manages performance of self and team by setting stretched but achievable performance goals Thinks strategically but acts tactically to meet business demands Makes decisions by analyzing situations, developing and implementing solutions Drives alignment among stakeholders to achieve business objectives Manages time and resources to meet deliverables Communicates effectively and efficiently Manage multiple priorities without sacrificing quality Qualifications and Competencies Bachelor’s Degree in Learning & Development disciplines preferred. 3+ years’ work experience leading teams in a matrixed organization 3+ years’ work experience delivering learning solutions. Flexible to work off shifts & weekend as needed. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, sometimes on short notice.
