Agronomist

AgroApps is an SME, backed by Space Hellas SA, that aims to solve the problems of modern farming and agriculture by building systems that address real life challenges using sophisticated numerical models, machine learning technologies, satellite and meteorological data, and crop growth models. We are currently looking for a dynamic and innovative Agronomist to join our team in revolutionizing modern farming practices. As a member of the Agronomists Department, you will play a pivotal role in driving forward our projects aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity, sustainability, and efficiency. Responsibilities Proposal Writing Collaborate with the research and development team to conceptualize and draft proposals for National and EU funding programs related to agricultural innovation and sustainability. Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify funding opportunities and requirements. Develop comprehensive proposals outlining project objectives, methodologies, timelines, and budgetary considerations. Project Implementation: Participate in the implementation of agri-sector projects aimed at improving farming practices through digital tools, data-driven services, and innovative technologies. Provide expertise in the conceptualization, planning and implementation (through AI among other algorithms) of digital services for the agricultural and agri-food sectors. Work closely with cross functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects, adhering to project timelines and budgets. Research and Development: Stay up to date with emerging trends and advancements in digital agriculture, agri-food innovation, data-driven technologies and sustainable farming practices. Conduct research to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of innovative farming methods and technologies. Collaborate with scientists and industry experts to develop cutting-edge solutions to agricultural challenges. Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze and interpret agricultural, environmental and project-related data to support the development, implementation and evaluation of digital services. Utilize data-driven insights to optimize farming practices, improve productivity, and minimize environmental impact. Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings, insights and recommendations. Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, research institutions, industry partners and funding organizations. Represent the company in meetings, conferences and industry events, showcasing our expertise in agronomy and innovation.

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture , Agronomy , Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Sciences , or a related field. A Master’s degree or complementary background in agricultural, environmental, geospatial, data science, computer science, engineering, or other relevant disciplines will be considered as an asset. Proven experience in proposal writing and implementation in the agricultural or environmental sector. Strong understanding of agricultural and environmental systems, precision and digital agriculture technologies, data-driven decision support tools and sustainable farming practices. Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with experience using statistical software and data visualization tools. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
