The Role

As a Certified Surgical Technologist at UVA Health, you will:

Prepare surgical supplies and instrumentation based on surgeon preference cards

Maintain a sterile field and demonstrate strong aseptic technique

Anticipate the needs of surgeons and the perioperative team

Support safe, efficient surgical workflows across a variety of procedures

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduated from a surgical technologist training program accredited by CAHEEP/ABHES OR NCCT Approved program.

Experience: One year of experience required.

Licensure: BLS required. Certified to practice as a Surgical Technologist by NBSTSA (The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) or NCCT (The National Center for Competency Testing) required at time of start date. Current Registration with Virginia Board of Medicine required at the time of hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods; Repetitive motion: passing instruments, lifting heavy instrument sets. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull >50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to cold, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The pay range for this role is $26.40 - $35.82 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
