The Department of Landscape Architecture has part time adjunct faculty positions available for the coming academic year. Responsibilities include teaching a broad range of courses in both professional programs, including studio, lectures, labs, fieldwork and seminars both in teams and individually.Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the
U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Position Description:
The Department of Landscape Architecture has part time adjunct faculty positions available for the coming academic year. Responsibilities include teaching a broad range of courses in both professional programs, including studio, lectures, labs, fieldwork and seminars both in teams and individually.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Teach landscape architecture courses at inter-disciplinary, undergraduate and graduate professional program levels.
Capacity to teach in one or more of the following areas: studio, plant identification, construction sequence, sustainability, communication technologies, computer and digital technology, design process, land/site analysis, all phases of design, research and design methodologies, theory, and history.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution, or terminal degree in an allied profession by date of appointment.
Demonstrates capability to teach in design studio; a developed expertise/capacity to teach in at least two of the following support areas of expertise: plant identification, site engineering/construction technologies; design communications (digital and hand-drawn techniques); digital applications, including GIS; research and design methodologies; history and design theory; design implementation; the ability to engage in the scholarship of the discipline and the profession.
Candidates who do not possess the minimum degree requirements may be considered for teaching positions if they meet the department’s criteria for tested experience in accordance with Ball State’s Faculty Qualifications Policy.
To meet the tested experience qualification candidates must address at least four of the following categories:
Relevant professional licensure (landscape architecture, architecture, interior design, engineering, planning, etc.)
Record of discipline-based scholarship or creative work.
Cumulative 10+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture or related discipline.
Cumulative 4+ peer-reviewed professional awards.
Cumulative 4+ invited lectures and/or presentations for professional work.
Cumulative 2+ leadership roles in professional organizations
Membership or certification (ASLA, AIA, NCARB, APA, etc.; LEED certification, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution or related discipline with an established design practice/research agenda; expertise in landscape ecology and advanced implementation technology; exemplary studio teaching experience.
Seven recent years of experience in landscape architecture or related practice.
