Job description
Title : Asst/Deputy Manager – Buying
Department: Operations – Supply Chain
Location : Navi Mumbai- Nerul
Reports To : Manager Supply Planning & Buying
Material Buying:
- Translate full month production plan into requisite RM & PM qty.
- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material delivery from supplier to point of fit.
- Day-to-day order management and management of deliveries
- Analyze master production schedules to calculate exact raw material requirements and establish optimal inventory levels, prevent shortages and reduce excess inventory.
- Track plan versus actual, discussion and fix the gaps with manufacturing team.
- Identify supply shortages or logistics risks, creating mitigation plans to ensure continuity.
- Rough cut capacity planning.
- Act quickly to solve supply chain disruptions, material defects, or schedule changes to avoid production downtime.
- Utilize ERP systems (like SAP) to maintain data accuracy and create KPI reports on vendor performance and inventory turnover.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Partner with the procurement, warehouse, and production teams to align material flow with business goals.
- Education: Graduate BE/B-Tech + Master/MBA in supply chain management or Operations Management.
- Experience: 4–5 years in supply chain, inventory control, or production planning.
- Advantage:
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP S4 HANA) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Strong ability to forecast demand and interpret supply chain metrics.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication abilities.
- Demonstrated broad understanding of purchase and supply chain processes
