Avanceon is looking to hire HSE Engineer on a contractual role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive site-specific Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) plans, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Conduct daily site inspections, rigorous hazard identification, and risk assessments for all high-risk activities, particularly in hazardous oil and gas environments.
- Manage and enforce a strict Permit-to-Work (PTW) system for all hot work, confined space entry, and heavy lifting operations.
- Lead and facilitate daily toolbox talks (TBT) and deliver comprehensive HSE induction training to all onsite staff and subcontractors.
- Supervise the proper use, maintenance, and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure all personnel are protected.
- Lead incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain up-to-date HSE documentation, including accident logs, training records, inspection checklists, and compliance reports.
- Act as the primary onsite liaison for emergency response, including fire-fighting systems, evacuation drills, and medical first-aid management.
- Regularly audit site activities against PEC OSH Code of Practice (2025) and client-specific safety standards.
- Prepare and submit periodic HSE progress reports to project management and the corporate QHSE department.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in HSE, with a proven track record in the oil and gas or major industrial construction sector.
- Recognized international safety certifications (NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent) are mandatory.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to influence safety culture onsite.
- Ability to manage and train a multi-disciplinary team of workers and subcontractors.
