Job description
- Lead The EHS team and Agenda for the site
- Train the Firefighting Team (Fire Wardens from within): Design and execute fire drills, maintain fire suppression systems, and ensure clear evacuation routes in high-density storage areas.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents or "near-misses," identifying root causes (e.g., employee behavior or equipment failure) and implementing corrective actions.
- Team Performance: Monitor and follow up on the performance of the OSH team and submit required performance reports to Supply Chain Management.
- Policy Development: Establish and periodically update technical and administrative HSE policies and procedures to ensure the organization remains aligned with best practices.
- Governmental Compliance: Ensure the DC complies with all state requirements to prevent violations, fines, or legal impositions regarding occupational safety and health.
- Environmental Oversight: Oversee the DC’s environmental impact, including the proper disposal of damaged goods and hazardous waste (e.g., leaked chemicals).
- Operational Inspections: Conduct periodic daily inspections of workplaces to identify risks and pollutants. Perform formal HSE Risk Assessments and define appropriate measures to control identified hazards.
- Equipment Oversight: Supervise inspection schedules for all material handling equipment , including Forklifts, Reach Trucks, and Electric Pallet Jacks/Transpallets.
- Dock Safety: Enforce specialized safety protocols for the Docks, ensuring vehicles, docks segregation rules are strictly followed.
- PPE Specifications & Enforcement: Participate in developing technical specifications for Personal Protective Equipment (masks, gloves, shoes, etc.) and verify their effectiveness.
- Third-Party Oversight: Ensure that all external manpower and third-party laborers strictly adhere to company safety standards and utilize the required PPE while on-site.
- Candidates must hold recognized safety certifications like OSHA or NEBOSH and possess a deep understanding of local civil defense and labor laws.
- Should have 3–5 years of experience in WH or DC safety, with a proven track record of leading teams and managing emergency response plans.
- Technical expertise in warehousing safety, dock operations, and conducting formal risk assessments is essential to identify and mitigate warehouse hazards. Additionally, the role requires strong experience in incident investigation and developing HSE policies to ensure full governmental compliance and zero workplace violations.
