Job description
- Daily Safety Rounds: Conduct floor walks to check for hazards (e.g., obstructed aisles, leaking pallets, wrong behaviours, wrong use of the equipments, or improper stacking) and ensure the correct use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Equipment Inspection: Perform daily pre-use checklists for Hand Pallet Jacks and Transpallets. Red-tag and remove any damaged equipment from the floor immediately.
- Hands-on Training:
- Provide practical training on the use of warehouse tools (PPEs, scanners, and MHE).
- Train employees on the correct "Manual Handling" techniques (how to lift/move items without injury).
- Conduct "Toolbox Talks" (short daily safety briefings) for the labor team.
- Behavioral Monitoring: Monitor and correct employee behavior, such as "speeding" with Forklift, Transpallets or improper use of racking systems.
- Damage Reporting: Document and report items damaged due to "unsafe handling" to the Supervisor to identify training gaps.
- Fire & Spill Response: Act as a first responder for chemical spills or small fires; ensure fire extinguishers and spill kits are fully charged and accessible.
- Holds any relevant bachelor degree with a solid grasp of warehouse hazard identification and PPE standards.
- Proficient in conducting safety inspections for MHE (Handpallets/ Forklift /transpallets) and training staff on the safe use.
- Experienced in delivering "Toolbox Talks" and manual handling training to large labor teams to improve on-floor behavior.
- Skilled in first-response techniques for small fires and chemical spills, including the maintenance of extinguishers and spill kits. 1–3 years of experience in a safety-focused role within a fast-paced distribution center or retail environment.
