The Product Owner defines how the tooling enables teams to build, run, monitor, and maintain data pipelines at scale.

Acting as the Product Owner for the internal data engineering platform, this role ensures that the toolchain is:

  • Standardized across the organization
  • Self-service and user-friendly
  • Observable and measurable

The Platform Product Owner works cross-functionally, bridging:

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Ownership — Manage and prioritize the ETL/ingestion platform backlog; define epics and user stories for enhancements, tooling upgrades, and CI/CD integrations.

  • System Analysis — Analyse platform performance, identify gaps, and drive improvements across ingestion, transformation, and monitoring capabilities.

  • Cross‑Team Collaboration — Communicate roadmap, releases, and changes clearly to engineering, architecture, BI, and cloud teams.

  • Data Processing — Work with large datasets using SQL and Python; support ingestion engine processing and data quality improvements.

  • Project Delivery — Lead small to large transformation initiatives and ensure acceptance criteria for platform deliverables are well‑defined and testable.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Azure Cloud Experience — Strong advantage; experience with cloud‑native data platforms.

  • Python & Data Expertise — Hands‑on experience with data processing, Databricks, and large‑scale datasets.

  • Data Structures & Algorithms — Solid foundational understanding.

  • System Analysis — Ability to assess platform behavior, identify bottlenecks, and propose scalable solutions.

  • Communication Skills — Clear, structured communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

  • Learning Agility — Quick to adopt new tools and technologies.

  • Education — Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred.

  • Ingestion Platform Experience — 2 years of experience is an advantage for internal candidates.

We Offer

  • Annual Incentive Plan — Participation in the AIP program based on role‑specific paymix and targets.

  • Stable International Environment — Work in a large, global research organization with long‑term career paths.

  • Professional Development — Growth opportunities within expert groups across products, methodologies, and analytical tools.

  • Learning & Support — Access to e‑learning platforms, mentorship programs, and educational support to continuously build your skills.

  • Comprehensive Benefits — Medicover medical care, health & life insurance, Multisport card, and access to a flexible benefits platform.

  • Innovative Products — Work with advanced, technology‑driven research solutions.
