What is the opportunity?
As the Senior Manager Pension & Savings Plan Administration, you’ll be the guardian of RBC’s pension and savings programs, ensuring seamless, compliant and compassionate experiences for employees and retirees across Canada and internationally. You’ll lead a high-performing team, optimize systems, and champion process improvements that set new standards for efficiency and employee satisfaction. What You’ll Do
Champion Employee Journeys: Manage end-to-end life cycle events (enrollments, terminations, retirements, deaths) with accuracy and compassion, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
Drive Innovation: Lead system enhancements, overseeing change requests, user acceptance testing, and semi-annual upgrades to keep our tech cutting-edge.
Protect Data Integrity: Maintain flawless records for benefits and pension changes, upholding compliance and trust in every transaction.
Solve & Elevate: Tackle escalations from HR teams, resolve complex issues, and implement root-cause solutions to prevent future challenges.
Lead with Vision: Guide a high-performing team through projects (M&A, annual initiatives) while fostering a culture of efficiency and employee-centricity.
Future-Proof Programs: Advise on legislative changes, audit controls, and process improvements to keep RBC ahead of industry standards.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Solid experience with leading Pensions and or Benefits Operations teams
- Subject Matter Expertise in pension plan and savings plan administration and related legislation/plan provisions including the Pension Benefits Standards Act (federal), various provincial pension benefits acts, including family law acts and wording knowledge of government social security systems (CPP/QPP) and CAP Guidelines.
- Knowledge of mathematical methods and principles and accounting procedures specific to Pension calculations specifically related to commuted values for terminations not eligible for retirement.
- Analytical mindset with a passion for process improvement and problem-solving.
- Excellent oral communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Strong PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Word)
Nice-to-have
- Working knowledge of Pension Administration systems, HRIS systems and their interaction
- Project and Task Management skills
