Job Description:

The Business Management & Strategy team is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst III to own a broad portfolio of business reporting, including AML reporting, governance forum preparation, and risk reporting. The role is also responsible for building and maintaining Power BI dashboards and developing Power Apps solutions in support of the broader Testing, Conduct Risk & Business Intelligence function.

This position sits at the intersection of analytics, reporting coordination, and technology. The successful candidate will be expected to produce clear, accurate, and well‑structured outputs for management and governance audiences, while also designing and maintaining the digital tools the team relies on to operate effectively. As an experienced professional, you will work independently from end to end. You will manage non‑routine and complex reporting requirements, act as a subject matter expert on business intelligence tools and data visualization, and continuously improve the quality, reliability, and accessibility of data across the function. This is a hands‑on role with a strong focus on building scalable solutions and automating manual processes through Power BI and Power Apps.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide specialized, end‑to‑end business intelligence support, data visualization, and reporting solutions for the Business Management & Strategy team within the Testing, Conduct Risk & Business Intelligence function. The analyst is accountable for the development, adoption, and ongoing evolution of a high‑quality reporting and BI capability that supports management decision‑making and governance requirements. The role may also deliver on ad‑hoc analytical and reporting initiatives as assigned and may act as a subject matter expert within the supported business area.

Own a broad portfolio of business reporting that includes AML reporting outputs, risk reporting, and materials supporting key governance forums such as Business Risk Forums and Branch Risk Forums. This includes coordinating and consolidating inputs from testing and monitoring partners to produce complete, accurate, and timely forum packages that reflect the current state of risk and control performance.

  • Socialize draft materials with the AVP prior to distribution, incorporating feedback to ensure alignment and consistency of messaging. The analyst also maintains back‑pocket commentary by collecting, organizing, and updating supplementary talking points and supporting data to equip leadership during governance discussions.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance a portfolio of Power BI dashboards, including AML Control Testing Results, BCP/BOP, PRCSA Testing Results, and ICFR dashboards. This includes managing the underlying data infrastructure, extracting data from the GRC (MERLIN/SNOW) system of record, transforming and loading data into structured datasets, and ensuring data integrity over time.
  • Establish repeatable data refresh processes, design robust data models and DAX measures, and connect data from multiple sources such as GRC extracts and SharePoint using Power Query. Develop and maintain Power Apps solutions that support testing workflows, replacing manual or Excel‑based processes with structured digital tools.
  • In addition, provide meaningful insights to management, develop clear and insightful commentary, identify opportunities to improve reporting and automation, and work closely with business partners to deliver value‑added reporting and ad‑hoc analysis as required.

What We're Looking For: Technical Skills (Non-Negotiable)

  • Proficiency in Power BI, with the ability to build and maintain multiple dashboards independently, design data models, write DAX measures, and connect to multiple data sources.
  • Experience managing underlying data for BI solutions, including extracting, transforming, and maintaining large, structured datasets to support dashboard reporting
  • Hands-on experience building Power Apps solutions, including forms, galleries, and SharePoint list integration.
  • Strong Power Query (M-code) skills for data transformation, cleansing, and multi-source integration.
  • Strong knowledge of various data sources and ability to connect, query, and prepare summaries and reports from multiple systems.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills for producing clear, management-ready presentation materials.

Experience & Education

  • Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree is preferred (e.g., mathematics, statistics, engineering, finance, or computer science).
  • Past relevant work experience and academic training in data and analytics is a strong asset.
  • 2–4 years of experience in a reporting, analytics, or business intelligence role, ideally within financial services or a regulated environment.
  • Experience working with AML, compliance, or risk reporting is a strong asset.
  • Proven ability to independently perform tasks from end to end, focusing on non-routine, specialized, and complex issues on a weekly to monthly basis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Assets (Preferred)
  • Microsoft Power Platform certification (PL-900, PL-100, or equivalent).
  • Experience with Power Automate for workflow and notification automation.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint site administration and list/library management.
  • Experience working with GRC or compliance management platforms; familiarity with Merlin or similar systems is a strong asset.
  • Understanding of AML regulatory frameworks, control testing methodologies, or branch banking environments.
