Hospitality Tutor  
Location: Hamilton 
Full-time | Fixed-Term | NZMA Hamilton 

Please note this is a full-time, fixed-term position, for 6 months  

About the role:  

Join NZMA Hamilton as a Hospitality Tutor and help shape the next generation of hospitality professionals. 

In this engaging and hands-on role, you will deliver our Level 3 Hospitality programme, providing students with the practical skills and industry knowledge required for success in the hospitality sector. You will teach core areas including café and barista service, food safety and hygiene, and function and event service, while creating a positive and supportive learning environment. 

Drawing on your industry experience, you will combine practical training with real-world insights to help students build confidence, develop professional behaviours, and gain the skills employers value. As a mentor and educator, you will support learners throughout their journey, empowering them to achieve their goals and transition successfully into employment or further study within the hospitality industry. 

About you: 

  • Recent experience within the hospitality industry, including café and barista operations, with a minimum of two years' experience in a supervisory or leadership role.  

  • A relevant qualification at Level 4 or above in Hospitality or a related field.  

  • Demonstrated barista skills and knowledge of café service standards.  

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, motivate, and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.  

  • A passion for developing others and supporting students to achieve their goals.  

  • Previous teaching experience is advantageous but not essential.
