Position Summary:
The Intermediate Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for supporting our business partners with insights, automated solutions, and various dashboards / reporting that will enhance their data driven decisions. Responsible for partnering with our Data Scientists on predictive analytics projects that enable proactive decisions and strategies. Support to the Data Scientists may consist of data mining, data discovery/exploration, feature creation, blending data from multiple sources, and statistical analysis. This role will also involve technical support, some requirements gathering/refinement, self-driven insight discovery, and presentations to stakeholders.
What you will do:
Influence business decisions by providing quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to decision-makers.
Bridge the gap between those doing self-service analytics as business users and those doing advanced analytics as data scientists.
Organize data and create dashboards/reports using visualization tools and internal databases. Utilize statistical methods for data analysis and insight development
Interface with the business to understand data needs and translate that to the target data set and project
Collect, aggregate, and analyze data from multiple internal and external data sources
Produce actionable reports that show key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement into current operations, and display root cause analysis of problems.
Work in conjunction with other GTS teams, improving data transparency and enabling businesses to make more trustworthy business decisions.
Responsible for bringing together information from different source systems into consolidated data structures.
Builds strong working relationships with numerous cross functional teams.
Analyzes current and past trends in key performance indicators. Explains causes of unexpected variances in trends.
Performs Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis, compiles and prepares reports and graphs.
Analyzes various data elements to assist with improving Key Performance Indicators.
Integrate, consolidate and cleanse data for use in analytics applications.
Explore the suite of Google AI tools for use as part of creative problem solving, data analysis, insight development and delivery.
When you will work:
Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
Hybrid schedule, 4 days in office in Wyoming, MI or Atlanta, GA with 1 day remote
What you'll bring to the table:
Bachelor's Degree preferred
5 years experience in Data Analytics preferred
Strong understanding of how to construct SQL queries for complex data mining (GCP and BigQuery knowledge a plus)
Ability to teach and support others on various complex data mining approaches
Experience with visualization tools and ability to learn new technologies
Must have problem-solving capabilities
Self Management - attention to detail, able to prioritize, multi-task and effectively manage time, and able to work independently or within a team environment.
Must demonstrate drive and initiative and be highly motivated toward company, team, and individual results and maintain a high focus on priorities.
Ability to develop solutions to a variety of complex problems and reference established precedents and policies.
Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized, attentive to detail
Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer data needs.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Strong desire to learn new technologies and tools
Wholesale Food Distribution knowledge is a plus
Understanding of existing GFS applications (Legacy Database/Tables, relationships, data structure) preferred
Python knowledge a plus
