Navajo Preference Employment Act

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Accountant position is responsible for providing grant-related assistance for all appropriate TCRHCC departments. This position works closely with the accountant assigned to grants and must be detail oriented.

Qualifications

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

Experience

  • A minimum of two (2) years of computer experience with spreadsheets and word processing.
  • General clerical experience with written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers. All employment references must address and indicate success in each one of the following areas:

  • Familiar with budget development and management
  • Has strong attention to detail

Require the ability to sit for a prolonged period of time, frequently walk, and occasionally stand, drive, bend, climb, kneel, crouch, twist, maintain balance, and reach. Sensory requirements for position include prolonged far vision, near vision, color vision, depth perception, seeing fine details, hearing normal speech, hearing overhead pages, and frequent telephone use. Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Works closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely payment of financial obligations.t and monthly financial reports, journal entries, budget compliance, time sheet entries, etc.
  • Maintains reports using Excel and systems
  • Meets with grant owners (Project Directors) on a monthly basis to reconcile expenditures per the grant financial report.
  • Maintains documentation of grants in an organized manner (budgets, financials, meetings, NOA, etc.) consistent with organization’s needs.
  • Tracks grant reporting due dates such as the Federal Financial Reports (FFR) and other performance reports; gives advance notification to staff and other parties with a valid interest.
  • Assists in grant proposals including development of budgets and project plans
  • Ensure proper PPE is always worn while on duty including but not limited to, face mask, gloves, gown, isolation gown, NIOSH-approved N95 filtering facepiece respirator or higher, if available), and eye or face shield when in patient care areas.
  • Ensure proper PPE is always worn while on duty including but not limited to, face mask, gloves, gown, isolation gown, NIOSH-approved N95 filtering facepiece respirator or higher, if available), and eye or face shield.
  • Complete all donning and doffing tasks in a safe acceptable method and discard of used PPE accordingly. (see CDC website for most current updates)
  • Complete task training for all routine cleaning and decontamination processes for all surfaces contaminated by a communicable disease to ensure a high level of patient, visitor, employee and external customer satisfaction.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
