About the role

We are looking for a Head of Customer Insurance MEA to lead the development and performance of our customer insurance sales organization across the Middle East and Africa.

In this role, you will drive growth through customer insurance solutions and extended liability offerings, working closely with IRM leadership in London, DHL Business Units, insurers, and key internal stakeholders. You will also lead sales enablement, product development, regulatory alignment, and performance management across the region.

Key responsibilities

· Lead the customer insurance sales and distribution organization across MEA

· Grow insurance premiums, policy placements, and customer penetration

· Develop strong partnerships with insurers, brokers, and key market stakeholders

· Support new insurance solutions for priority customer segments such as healthcare and high-value goods

· Deliver training and sales enablement across regional commercial teams

· Guide pricing, risk transfer, and product positioning

· Oversee sales performance, reporting, and P&L delivery

· Ensure compliance with local insurance and tax regulations

· Improve digital tools and processes supporting insurance sales and claims

· Partner with global and regional IRM teams to drive continuous improvement

Qualifications / Requirements

· Degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Economics, or similar

· 5–10 years’ experience leading cargo insurance sales or business development across MEA

· Background in logistics, insurance, or brokerage environments

· Strong knowledge of cargo insurance structures, fronting arrangements, and regional distribution models

· Expertise in marine cargo insurance, including product design, pricing, clauses, and claims

· Proven success in business growth and market expansion

· Strong customer-facing sales experience

· Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

· Strong Microsoft Office proficiency

· Results-driven, commercial, and comfortable in a dynamic international environment
