Job description
Convert enquiries into unforgettable events. Own the sales process from first contact to confirmed booking.
We're looking for a commercially minded Sales Development Representative (Meeting & Events) to join our national sales team - someone who thrives on converting opportunities and delivering seamless experiences from enquiry through to execution.
You'll be the first point of contact for inbound enquiries, managing the full sales cycle while proactively generating new business and maximising revenue across our national network. If you're sales-driven, hospitality-passionate, and motivated by impact, this is the role for you.
What your day-to-day will look like (but not limited to!):
- Be the first point of contact for all meetings and events enquiries - qualifying leads, building proposals, and converting opportunities into confirmed bookings.
- Proactively prospect for new business through outbound calls, emails, and social media to maintain a healthy and active sales pipeline.
- Upsell catering, AV, and add-on services to maximise revenue and occupancy across every booking.
- Coordinate event details with clients and liaise with vendors on catering, room layout, AV, and timing to ensure seamless handovers to operations.
- Maintain accurate CRM records (HubSpot) covering enquiries, proposals, billing, and post-event follow-up.
- Support national inbound calls and hospitality inboxes, ensuring all enquiries are handled promptly and to Hub's service standards.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has 2+ years' experience in a sales or hospitality role - events or venue sales experience highly regarded.
- Is a confident, natural communicator across phone, email, and in person, with a proven ability to qualify and close opportunities.
- Brings energy, drive, and strong follow-through - motivated by targets and committed to delivering exceptional client experiences.
- Manages multiple priorities with ease in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Has a working knowledge of HubSpot or a similar CRM - desirable but not essential.
Why you should join us:
- Be part of a collaborative, hospitality-led team that genuinely cares about the experience they deliver.
- Join a growing, purpose-led organisation that is a certified Great Place to Work™, B Corp, and carbon-neutral business.
- Access great perks including the Sonder (Wellbeing and Safety), paid volunteer leave, and your birthday off.
- Work with passionate teammates who exemplify our values: Hospitality First, Lead with Impact, Elevate Everyday, Make Things Happen.
Keen to join but don’t tick all the boxes? Apply Anyway!
We understand that skills and potential don't always fit neatly into a checklist. If you're passionate about this role but don't meet every single requirement, we still want to hear from you. Your unique experience and enthusiasm could be just what we're looking for!
