Job description

Kōrero mō te tūranga (about the role)

We're on the lookout for a skilled and experienced professional to develop, establish, lead and evolve the Information Technology ‘Centre of Excellence’ business intelligence and reporting practice. 

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Business Intelligence (BI) and Reporting Centre of Excellence (COE), ensuring alignment between BI strategy and business needs.

Leading a small tema, you will foster collaboration and knowledge sharing between business unit analysts and the BI team to deliver consistent, high-quality BI solutions. As a subject matter expert, you will provide guidance on BI tools, technologies, and industry best practices, while mentoring and supporting both team members and business unit analysts.

You will also identify opportunities to improve processes, automate workflows, and scale BI operations for optimal efficiency. Building strong relationships across the organization, you will advocate for BI adoption, track KPIs, and continuously improve the effectiveness and impact of the BI practice.

This role can be located in New Plymouth or Wellington.

Mōu  (about you) 

As well as being an BI guru (7+ years experience), you'll be highly focused on delivering exceptional internal customer service through your strong communication and stakeholder management skills.  You'll also have:

  • Proven experience in BI, analytics, or data management with a focus on reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of BI tools, technologies, and best practices.
  • Excellent collaboration and mentoring skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • People leadership/management experience.
