Job Summary
Leads, develops and tests embedded software applications. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to design system solutions. Optimizes software performance for embedded systems. Expert in developing Device Drivers
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Specialized in embedded software development. Designs, develops, and tests software applications to meet system requirements from concept through product release. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver optimized, high-performance embedded solutions.
- Responsible for the design, development, testing and documenting of a system, subsystem, or a component as part of an overall architecture. Ensure that engineering solutions are practical, efficient, and aligned with project goals and industry standards.
- Applies the latest technology and research findings/results into engineering designs solutions and design rules
- Works with an outside-in view in order to understand and fulfil customer and market requirements as well as competitive alternatives. Work closely with the global competence community and Research organization to stay updated with the latest insights in innovations and technical breakthroughs.
- Designs, realizes, tests (sub-) systems or components based on design requirements and produces specs for the product and propositions.
- Drives IP creation and protection (Patents, Trade secrets, Copyrights).
- Writes, updates and maintains development reports and project deliverables.
- Depending on grade, contributes to and drives technology road mapping.
- Depending on grade, provides coaching and mentoring within the team to support effective use of available knowledge and skills, both internally and externally.
Critical Experiences
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with a focus on embedded systems.
- Experience in embedded software development, including programming in C/C++ and working with real-time operating systems.
- No mandatory licenses; relevant certifications in embedded systems or software development (e.g., Embedded Systems Certification) are advantageous but not required.
