About auticon
auticon is a German-Norwegian social enterprise with a powerful mission: to empower individuals on the autism spectrum by integrating their extraordinary talents into technical and IT-related roles. With over 15 years of experience, we have successfully partnered with businesses to achieve exceptional results, thanks to the unique cognitive abilities, attention to detail, logical thinking, and precision that neurodivergent individuals bring to the workplace.
At auticon, we create an inclusive work environment that celebrates diversity and ensures our employees thrive. Our consultants work in a supportive, autism-friendly atmosphere where we prioritize your strengths, understanding, and needs. Our approach is rooted in respect, and the majority of our consultants are on the autism spectrum.
If you identify as neurodivergent, are passionate about technology, coding, and solving complex problems, we want to hear from you.
About the Project
Join an international banking project responsible for supporting critical technology platforms and services used across a large global organisation.
As an Infrastructure Engineering Team Lead, you will lead a team responsible for Database Administration and Unix/Linux Systems Administration. You will be accountable for the team's delivery from demand intake and prioritisation through execution and reporting, while driving operational excellence and promoting repeatable practices that improve resilience, performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Working closely with Architecture, Product Owners, Engineering, and Operations teams, you will help improve platform stability, strengthen monitoring and alerting capabilities, standardise operational processes, and ensure the availability of mission-critical IT services.
What You'll Do
•
Lead the Infrastructure Engineering team (DBA and Unix/Linux Administration) delivering operational and engineering outcomes for critical services and vendor-supported platforms.
•
Own team delivery end-to-end, including demand intake, prioritisation, execution, and reporting.
•
Drive improvements in monitoring, alerting, and performance across infrastructure and database environments.
•
Establish and maintain engineering and operational standards, including documentation, peer reviews, quality controls, runbooks, and change management practices.
•
Measure outcomes and drive improvements in team effectiveness and service quality.
•
Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to develop a high-performing infrastructure engineering function.
•
Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the team.
What We're Looking For
•
3+ years leading engineers or technical specialists and providing technical direction in an enterprise environment.
•
Proven experience transforming a team into a high-performing function.
•
Strong DBA (Oracle & PostgreSQL) and/or Unix/Linux skills.
•
Proven experience maintaining highly available, low-latency systems in a regulated industry (preferably banking, fintech, or insurance).
•
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including performance troubleshooting, stability, capacity planning, and incident analysis.
•
Fluency in written and spoken English; comfortable working in a multi-cultured/global environment.
•
Working experience in Agile methodologies.
•
Ability to work independently and within a diverse team environment.
•
Strong documentation, collaboration, and ownership mindset.
Nice to Have
•
Experience with monitoring and observability tools and practices (e.g., AppDynamics, Grafana, Splunk, OpenTelemetry, or similar solutions).
•
Understanding of financial services compliance and risk management requirements.
