Application Support Engineer

Job description
As an Application Support Engineer you will be working with our software support application teams. You will be providing second and third line support to our business customers for software application related issues as well as working on projects to move away from current legacy solutions and to implement business tools and systems (new version of eLIMS).
While working on internal software systems in our laboratories across the CEE region, you will be part of the support team and also play an integral role in the implementation team, working to implement new systems and improve processes. You will be working with the support engineers, as well as business analysts and developers as part of a large and dynamic IT Solutions team.
Key duties as an Application Support Engineer include:
- handling support requests for internal business users, problem-solving, and troubleshooting,
- database querying, and configuration,
- contribute to the development of business reporting,
- work on improvements to systems, specifically focusing on LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) and internal tools,
- collaborating with business to understand their requirements and cover those proactively,
- working close with developers on bug fixes and feature development.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar position - preferred experience with ERP- like software,
- proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, and any prior programming experience would be beneficial,
- experience with Microsoft SQL queries and scripting is essential,
- excellent communication skills to effectively discuss business problems and issues,
- strong problem-solving abilities,
- a passion for technology.
Beneficial skills include:
- experience with SSRS or Crystal Reports,
- familiarity with BI platforms such as Qlikview or Power BI,
- scripting experience in VB6, VBA, or C#.net,
- experience with Visual Basic development would also be a plus.
