We are looking for a Philippines-based Staff Attorney to support our Legal Department. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this individual will play a vital role in supporting both U.S. and Philippines operations, offering strategic legal guidance, ensuring compliance, and managing contract and regulatory workflows. This is a unique opportunity to work on both U.S. and Philippine legal matters while helping drive positive social impact at scale. This is a fully remote position working night shift hours.

Key Responsibilities:

U.S. Legal Support

  • Review, revise, and manage contracts relating to the U.S. operations, including our federal and state grant programs in the U.S.

  • Provide compliance advice and support.

  • Draft and maintain internal policies and procedures for U.S. operations.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with U.S. tax requirements (income, sales, unemployment, employer withholding, etc.).

  • Assist with registrations, permits, and other corporate compliance tasks.

  • Coordinate with brokers and internal stakeholders regarding insurance coverage for U.S. entities.

  • Conduct internal investigations.

Philippines Legal Support

  • Oversee employment law compliance and HR legal matters in the Philippines.

  • Manage business registration and regulatory filings for Philippines operations.

  • Ensure tax compliance and proper reporting for Philippine corporate and employment taxes.

  • Draft and maintain internal policies tailored to the Philippines business unit.

  • Support insurance procurement and compliance in the Philippines.

  • Conduct internal investigations.

What You Bring:

  • Law degree and active license to practice in the Philippines. A law degree from a law school in the U.S. or other common law jurisdiction preferable, but not required.

  • Located in the Philippines with night shift work hours (to overlap with U.S. team).
  • Experience or formal education related to U.S. law is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with U.S. tax, compliance, employment and/or business law preferred.

  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying and resolving legal issues.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote U.S.-based team.
