Job description

Make your mark for patients

We are looking for a Global Process Owner (GPO) – Record-to-Report | Global Finance Close & Reporting to join us in our HQ office in Brussels, Belgium.

About the role

You will play a key role in shaping how the organization structures and governs how finance processes work across our global organization.

As Global Process Owner for Record-to-Report, you will own the end-to-end finance process from transaction recording through financial close and reporting. You will help create a more consistent, efficient, and compliant way of working across regions, functions, and systems, and act as a key guardian of process compliance in the context of ongoing changes and transformations.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong finance knowledge with a passion for process improvement, change, and collaboration. You will work across the business to identify opportunities, simplify complexity, and support major transformation initiatives that strengthen operational performance and business outcomes.

This is a senior enterprise role focused on end-to-end coherence, governance, and performance, not on day-to-day operational execution and not limited to any single system or platform. Success in this role is reflected in the consistent execution of Record-to-Report processes across regions, improved transparency and control, strengthened compliance, and the ability to enable effective cross-functional collaboration while supporting transformation and business priorities.

Who you'll work with

You will be working in a team that connects process expertise across the full value chain and helps the organization operate in a more joined-up way.

The team brings together leaders responsible for key end-to-end processes and works closely with finance, procurement, manufacturing, engineering, regional experts, digital teams, and senior stakeholders at headquarters.

In this role, you will partner with colleagues across countries and functions to align ways of working, improve governance, and support important business transformation initiatives. You will also help build a strong community of process experts and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and enterprise thinking.

You will operate in partnership with functional leadership teams, connecting expertise rather than replacing it, and helping decisions reflect enterprise priorities rather than local optimization.

What you'll do

  • Define and govern the global finance process from transaction recording through reconciliation, financial close, and reporting, ensuring a consistent and efficient approach across functions and geographies
  • Identify improvement and automation opportunities across finance activities, using data, process insight, and structured problem-solving to improve quality, speed, and control
  • Partner with finance, tax, treasury, controlling, digital, and regional teams to align process design, resolve cross-functional issues, and support successful delivery of transformation initiatives
  • Establish clear process standards, documentation, controls, training, and performance measures to support compliance, audit readiness, and sustainable adoption across the organization
  • Lead discussions with senior stakeholders to influence decisions, challenge existing practices, and prioritize changes that deliver measurable business value
  • Support major enterprise projects by ensuring finance processes are well designed, connected to upstream and downstream activities, and fit for a regulated environment
  • Build and strengthen a network of business experts, helping develop process capabilities, promote best practice, and embed a process-first mindset across the organization
  • Shape and support transformation initiatives and major programs (including wave-based deployments) by identifying and prioritizing process improvement opportunities, guiding end-to-end process design, and ensuring alignment across functions, systems, and governance, in partnership with business and functional teams responsible for implementation and adoption
  • Support structured change adoption by contributing to change impact assessments, defining adoption priorities, and ensuring business readiness and stakeholder alignment, while partnering with functions accountable for execution, training delivery, and post-implementation stabilization

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills

  • Significant experience in finance process management, financial operations, or transformation, with strong knowledge of financial close, reconciliation, reporting, and controls
  • Around 15 years of professional experience in complex international environments, ideally within life sciences, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, or another highly regulated industry
  • Strong finance background with the ability to work across functions, connect end-to-end processes, and translate business needs into practical improvements
  • Experience in process excellence methods such as Lean or Six Sigma; certification at Green Belt or Black Belt level is an advantage
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to listen, influence, challenge constructively, and build alignment across senior and cross-functional groups
  • High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complexity, ambiguity, and organizational sensitivity in a constructive way
  • Exposure to enterprise planning or finance systems is helpful, but this role does not require deep technical expertise
  • Excellent English communication skills are required; additional language skills may be helpful depending on location and stakeholder scope
