JOB GOAL: To provide leadership in developing and maintaining the best possible educational system and service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promotes the success of every student by facilitating the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a vision of learning that is shared and supported by all stakeholders.
- Collaboratively develops and implements a shared vision and mission
- Collects and uses data to identify goals, assesses organizational effectiveness, and promotes organizational learning
- Creates and implements plans to achieve goals
- Promotes continuous and sustainable improvement
- Monitors and evaluates progress and revises plans
- Promotes the success of every student by advocating, nurturing, and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth.
- Nurtures and sustains a culture of collaboration, trust, learning, and high expectations
- Creates a comprehensive, rigorous, and coherent curricular program
- Creates a personalized and motivating learning environment for students
- Supervises instruction
- Develops assessment and accountability systems to monitor student progress
- Develops the instructional and leadership capacity of staff
- Maximizes time spent on quality instruction
- Promotes the use of the most effective and appropriate technologies to support teaching and learning
- Monitors and evaluates the impact of the instructional program
- Promotes the success of every student by ensuring management of the organization, operation, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.
- Monitors and evaluates the management and operational systems
- Obtains, allocates, aligns, and efficiently utilizes human, fiscal, and technological resources
- Promotes and protects the welfare and safety of students and staff
- Develops the capacity for distributed leadership
- Ensures teacher and organizational time is focused to support quality instruction and student learning
- Promotes the success of every student by collaborating with faculty and community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilizing community resources.
- Collects and analyzes data and information pertinent to the educational environment
- Promotes understanding, appreciation, and use of the community’s diverse cultural, social, and intellectual resources
- Builds and sustains positive relationships with families and caregivers
- Builds and sustains productive relationships with community partners
- Promotes the success of every student by acting with integrity, fairness, and in an ethical manner.
- Ensures a system of accountability for every student’s academic and social success

- Any other Duties as assigned.
POSITION/TITLE: Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 11 Months
SALARY: As per District Salary Schedule
FLSA STATUS: Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be certified in the State of Arizona as a principal and have all the coursework required to carry out the responsibilities fully and effectively.
- An understanding and familiarity with Navajo/Hopi education and the particular situation, circumstances, and problems that are involved is preferred.
- Arizona SEI Endorsement required (or must obtain within the first year).
- Must have a proven successful employment record.
