Job description
Fastmarkets is looking for an experienced marketing leader to join our team in Sofia as Head of Marketing. This is a newly created role that sits at the heart of our marketing operation – the engine room between strategy and delivery.
You'll manage and develop a team of at least four based in Bulgaria and London, overseeing the day-to-day planning, execution, and performance of marketing campaigns across our events portfolio. Working closely with the senior marketing team you'll translate marketing strategy into well-run, high-quality campaigns that go out on time, on brief, and are tracked and reported on rigorously.
As a member of the Events Leadership Team, you'll bring the marketing perspective into senior events planning conversations, ensuring campaigns are aligned with commercial priorities and event delivery timelines. You'll work in close partnership with the Events Production Director to keep both sides of the operation joined up.
A key part of this role is building a more joined-up marketing campaigns operation. Over time, you'll work to align our events marketing and digital marketing teams around shared standards for campaign delivery and reporting – ensuring best practice is embedded across both functions, campaigns are executed effectively and on time, and marketing activity consistently delivers against our commercial targets.
Principal Accountabilities
Campaign management & delivery
- Own the day-to-day project management of marketing campaigns from planning through to execution and post-campaign analysis
- Ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard – maintaining quality control across all outputs
- Serve as the central point of coordination across the team, keeping stakeholders informed and projects on track
Team leadership
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of marketing professionals based in Bulgaria and the UK
- Set clear priorities, support career development, and build a high-performing, collaborative team culture
Reporting & performance
- Track and report on campaign performance, providing clear and consistent updates to the Director of Marketing and, where relevant, the Managing Director of Events
- Identify what's working, flag what isn't, and recommend improvements based on data
Stakeholder management
- Act as the connector between senior strategy and team-level output – translating direction clearly and escalating issues appropriately
- Work closely with the Events Production Director to ensure marketing activity and event delivery are tightly aligned
- Manage internal stakeholders effectively, ensuring alignment and timely sign-off across campaigns
Events leadership
- Participate as a full member of the Events Leadership Team, representing marketing in senior planning and decision-making conversations
- Ensure the marketing function is responsive to the commercial and operational priorities set by events leadership
Cross-team integration
- Work with the Director of Marketing to progressively integrate events and digital marketing workflows
- Support the development of a more holistic, channel-joined customer journey

- Solid understanding of digital marketing channels, particularly email, paid media, and SEO
- Experience managing and developing a marketing team
- Clear, confident communicator who can operate between strategic direction and operational delivery, and hold their own in senior leadership conversations
- Data-literate, with experience tracking and reporting on campaign performance
Desirable
