Job description
CEDA is currently seeking 2 Heavy Duty Technician, Journeyman to join the Dredging and Fluid Management team in Fort McMurray, AB. This is a full time site-based opportunity with accommodation and flights provided.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Preventative maintenance on Stationary Diesel Engines, Hydraulic Systems, Trailer Units, Dredges, Barges & Marine equipment
- Ongoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines, after treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems and pumps
- Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts
- Interpret work orders
- Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled
- Ensure all health, safety and environment practices and paperwork are complete for all day to day activities
- Other duties as assigned
Role Specifications
- Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Red Seal required
- CSO (Common Safety Orientation) required
- Experience in hydraulic, electrical, dredge and pump systems an asset
- Oil & Gas experience an asset
- Valid Class 5 license with less than 5 demerits
- Weight handling of up to 50 lbs
- Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
Skills

- You’re meticulous – you have no problem completing the required paperwork for projects and jobs
- Your knowledge John Deere, Cummins and CAT engines would set you up for success
- You’re flexible - willing to work an on-call schedule as needed and adapt to changing work environments
- Computers are your friend, not your enemy
- Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems and the ability to provide your own tools would be assets.
