Job Summary
The Product Development Engineer is responsible for improving or developing new products, components, equipment, systems, technologies, or processes. This role ensures that research and design methodologies meet scientific and engineering standards and supports the organization in achieving technical, functional, and cost targets.
This job profile is intended for early-career professionals who apply broad theoretical knowledge and require the ability to investigate and analyze problems. Solutions are typically discussed/verified with a more senior member.

Purpose of the job

The Engineering Tools Group has the responsibility to provide the global engineering departments with software solutions supporting mechanical engineering processes. To complete our team, we are looking for a motivated and committed software developer with experience in web-based applications and data analysis.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Development of Web Applications from scratch or modification of existing app that includes UI creation/adaption

• Creation of databases and using CRUD operations on them, working knowledge of stored procedures

• Project execution within timeline, requirement collection from mechanical engineers/end users and communication with development team

• Participate in activities such as programing, code review, testing, debugging and code refactoring (ASP.NET CORE / MVC)

• Maintain and enhance software by suggesting and implementing changes based on user feedback and business processes in place or to come.

• Apply agile methodology and software development lifecycle processes.

 

Additional tasks

• Support maintenance of desktop applications if required

Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge Required

• Bachelor or Master degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science or in Engineering with additional software development experience.

• Minimum 3 years of proven experience in web application development with ASP.NET CORE / MVC.

• Solid understanding of modern web development technologies, architecture, and best practices.

• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and UI libraries such as Bootstrap.

• Experience with MS SQL Server, including database design, queries, and stored procedures.

• Experience in designing and implementing user interfaces based on customer or business requirements.

• Understanding of web services, RESTful APIs, and service-oriented architecture.

• Proficiency in C# and object-oriented programming principles.

• Experience with cloud-based applications is an advantage.

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) or orchestration (Kubernetes) is beneficial.

• Experience with Python and data analysis is an advantage.
