The Role
As Senior Product Manager, you will serve as the TechOps representative for one or more commercial products, ensuring that supply chain capabilities, manufacturing readiness, and lifecycle activities are aligned with business and market needs. This is a highly cross-functional role that sits at the intersection of Technical Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, and Commercial teams. You will represent the product within TechOps and translate commercial ambitions into operational plans that can be successfully executed across the global product network.
Working closely with Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs), external partners, Technical Operations subject matter experts, and internal stakeholders, you will provide strategic oversight of product lifecycle management activities, including commercial launches, market expansions, supply continuity, and post-launch changes.
Success in this role requires someone who enjoys understanding both the product and the broader business context. You will build strong relationships across the organization, create alignment between functions, and ensure that all activities impacting the physical product are understood, coordinated, and delivered successfully.
Responsibilities
Product Leadership & Lifecycle Management
•
Act as the primary TechOps representative for assigned products, maintaining oversight of the entire product supply chain and lifecycle.
•
Lead cross-functional discussions to ensure product strategies are aligned across Technical Operations, Commercial, Regulatory, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain functions.
•
Drive lifecycle management activities, including product launches, market expansions, packaging updates, process improvements, and supply chain changes.
•
Provide regular updates and recommendations to governance forums and senior stakeholders.
Launch Readiness & Commercial Execution
•
Partner with Commercial teams to understand product and market requirements and translate these into operational execution plans.
•
Ensure manufacturing, logistics, storage, transportation, and supply chain capabilities are in place to support launches and market expansions.
•
Work closely with Project Managers within Commercial Supply Chain to successfully implement lifecycle management initiatives and launch activities.
•
Identify dependencies, risks, and capacity constraints across the product network and drive proactive mitigation plans.
External Partner & Supply Network Management
•
Collaborate with CMOs, supply chain partners, and external stakeholders to coordinate lifecycle activities and implementation plans.
•
Monitor product performance and supply network readiness, ensuring alignment between external partners and internal priorities.
•
Support key CMC-related product management processes, including process performance reviews, product costing, and change management activities.
Strategic Decision-Making & Stakeholder Management
•
Balance strategic thinking with operational execution, moving comfortably between high-level portfolio discussions and detailed technical or supply chain topics.
•
Build strong networks across the organization and develop a deep understanding of stakeholder priorities and business objectives.
•
Facilitate decision-making by bringing together the right expertise, challenging assumptions where appropriate, and ensuring issues are addressed effectively.
•
Drive solutions to complex cross-functional challenges using data, stakeholder input, and sound business judgement.
Quality & Compliance
•
Partner with Quality Assurance to maintain GxP compliance across the product lifecycle and supply chain network.
•
Support deviation, exception, and investigation processes, including root cause analysis, CAPA implementation, and timely closure of quality events.
•
Ensure compliance requirements are incorporated into lifecycle and launch planning activities.
Requirements
•
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Business, or a related discipline.
•
Several years of experience in Product Management, Supply Chain Management, Technical Operations, Manufacturing, or a related function within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry.
•
Experience working with commercial products and supporting lifecycle management activities, launches, or market expansions.
•
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical supply chains, manufacturing operations, and product lifecycle management.
•
Experience collaborating with CMOs, external manufacturing partners, and global cross-functional teams.
•
Ability to navigate both technical and business discussions and translate commercial needs into operational plans.
•
Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and build effective networks in a matrix organization.
•
Strong project leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
•
Familiarity with GxP-regulated environments and quality management processes.
•
Self-starter with a proactive mindset, capable of operating independently in a complex and evolving environment.
•
Experience within commercial supply chain organizations in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
•
Exposure to product launches, launch readiness planning, and global market expansion initiatives.
•
Experience working with complex global supply networks and external manufacturing partners.
